“And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20b

I am is with me/you/us always! Each and every moment, God is with us! A promise made, a promised continually fulfilled. “’Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.’ All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the prophet: ‘Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,’ which means, ‘God is with us.’” (Matthew 1:20b-23) So as God makes his presence known to us and says, ‘I am here with you’ then asks, ‘will you be with me?’ How do we respond? He is with us to the end of the age, until he returns, then he is with us in eternity – will I/you/we be with him? “Do this in remembrance of me,” he says, as he breaks the loaf at his Holy Table. How do we respond? What is your response?
