Scripture Read Luke 7-8

Nugget Luke 7:20-23

“When the men had come to him, they said, ‘Are you the one who is to come, or are we to wait for another?’ Jesus had just then cured many people of diseases, plagues, and evil spirits, and had given sight to many who were blind. And he answered them, ‘Go and tell John what you have seen and heard; the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have good news brought to them. And blessed is anyone who takes no offense at me.’”

Devotional Thought: How much do I/you/we expect/trust that God is transformational – that God overcomes brokenness in all its forms? John the Baptist, his followers and the scribes and Pharisees all asked for a sign, asked Jesus to prove that He was the One. Jesus’ response – “Go and tell John what you have seen and heard; the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have good news brought to them.” Do I/you/we even notice all that God had done, is doing and do we believe God will continue to do? It’s not that we need a sign, we need a new outlook.
