“Then Samuel said to all the house of Israel, ‘If you are returning to the LORD with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Astartes from among you. Direct your heart to the LORD, and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.’ So Israel put away the Baals and the Astartes, and they served the LORD only.” 1 Samuel 7:3-4

Is there more than one “lord” in my/your life? Do I/you serve/worship/follow after someone or something other than Creator God? A week after Easter, really, how quickly I/you forget! When will the cycle of sin – oppression – confession – salvation stop? Love the LORD God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and neighbor as yourself as God loves. Put away the distractions. O God that I live life to the fullest with you, worshiping you, serving you and all those you call me to serve. That I share your mercy and justice with others by your grace.
