Scripture Nugget 12.5.2016

“And this is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight to help you determine what is best, so that in the day of Christ you may be pure and blameless, having produced the harvest of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God. … Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, … Do all things without murmuring and arguing that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine like stars in the world. … For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and I regard them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but one that comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God based on faith. … Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:9-11, 2:5a, 14-15, 3:8b-9, 4:4-7

God defines holiness and righteousness creation. Any righteousness, holiness, purity and blamelessness we possess comes from faith in Jesus Christ. What if ……. we were all “pure and blameless”, ‘blameless and innocent” and had the minds and hearts of Christ? The result I believe would be the peace promised in the Savior. The reason this peace hasn’t been realized is not because the Savior hasn’t come – He has; it is because we continue to hope in something/someone less than, something/someone other than Jesus Christ. Therefore, any peace we experience is less than that which is promised. The kingdom of God is here, let us all repent and enter in. God promises not only peace, but joy and the fullness of love. Rejoice!
