Scripture Read Job 15-16

Nugget Job 16:19

“Even now, in fact, my witness is in heaven, and he that vouches for me is on high.”

Devotional thought: God’s prevenient grace is wonderful! Prevenient grace, the grace of God that goes before us and leads us to Jesus. Here, with Job, long before Jesus, the Son of God, lives on earth, the Holy Spirit gives Job insight into the work of Jesus. He believes he has a witness in heaven who vouches for him. Deep down inside his soul, Job anointed by God’s Holy Spirit (Prevenient Grace) discerns the presence and salvific work of the Son, even though he (Job) is overwhelmed/terrified by God. O how wonderful is the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. May I/we, who live on this side of the Resurrection always remember we have a witness in heaven who not only vouches for us but has paid the debt for all my/our sin. Praise God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
